Many uses - limited only by the limits of your imagination
I have these "bowl" pans in both sizes. I use the smaller size more often since personal sized items make portion control easier.
Whenever I bake, I put the pan on a sheet pan. That makes it easier to get hot pans out of the oven and if you have spill over, clean up is contained. I don't use boxed mixes - ever. I found this pan roughly holds recipes sized for a standard loaf pan.
This pan makes it easy to trim your item to get that professional flat bottom even if you don't have a high degree of experience. My teenage son loves using this size to make brownies for his friends. Served slightly warm with a scoop of ice cream really wows the ladies! I like brownies or "short" cakes baked in this. We fill the indent with whipped cream and top with berries. Last night I used this to make a spiced "bread" bowl to hold chili. As always, the recipes we use are GuaranteedGF.
I've used this to make "layered" gelatin salads, layered frozen desserts, as frozen...
Inspiring !
Ooooh- I LOVE this pan !! It came with a booklet of recipes to try. It's very cool that you don't have to alter your regular recipes hardly at all. My first dish was cornbread bowls that I then served chili in. Awesome ! Next, made brownie bowls, (just used mix) and filled with homemade chocolate mousse !! Very easy to make, but looked professional !! I love this pan ! I just bought the 5inch one as well . The 3 inch bowls are pretty much appetizer sized .
Unusual
I bought these as a gift for a friend who owns a restaurant. She makes sponge cakes and fills the center with berries - yummy dessets! Then she did something creative and unusual. She makes meatloafs and fills the centers with garlic mashed potatoes - oh so yummy! She loves these little pans.
