Top Notch Pan for the Price!
I own a 10 quart pan by Vollrath in the Optio line which I just plain love, use often and have written a review on. I figured I couldn't go wrong with this 4 quart so I ordered it. Here's my take on this pan: Well made s/s pan with super thick bottom, nice long handle with hole so it hangs on my pot rack happily. I'm guessing I'll have to use a pot holder on the handle when it is hot which is fine. The lid is lighter weight than my very large, lower profile 10 quart pan, but then how heavy does the lid have to be? The walls of the pan are not as thick as a Viking or All-Clad but what I would consider more than adequate. Viking and All-Clad's lids are also a bit heavier but then their prices are also much "heavier" too. Viking and All-Clad's sides are also thicker so whether this matters I guess time will tell. I like the pan, know it will give me many years of service and for the price it is beautiful and I know from experience it will retain its beauty so I would buy it...
Vollrath 4-quart sauce pan
When looking for a new saucepan, I wanted a four quart size and there weren't a lot of them. Then, I looked on Amazon and saw the Vollrath name and knew I couldn't go wrong. Vollrath is chosen by many chefs and we used to own a restaurant. This is a good brand and the pan itself is really, really great. The price was quite acceptable. Thanks, Amazon for offering this brand name.
