A must for a real cook.
A Peurto Rican friend turned me on to to cooking rice in this kind of pot. Some times the old ways are the best. This pot puts the old way at your finger tips and it is CHEAP. Three cups of water, two cups of long grain rice two tablespoons ov oil. Bring to boil simmer till tender. rinse rice return to pot. Perfect rice. Shape of pot and heat transfer rate of the cast aluminum make this possible. Cleans up easily.
Decent Pot; Great Value
We knew we would be having a talented Latina cook visit us and that she would want to cook some of her favorite rice dishes. So we ordered an Imusa caldero, and were we glad! After a quick seasoning with oil, she put the pot to use and found it perfect. Not as good, of course, as her own caldero back home with generations of use, but certainly fine for a kitchen visit! And now that she has given us some lessons, we will put it to good use also. The only downside I see is that the knob on the cover is not oven-proof. Fine now for stove top, but I think I can craft a replacement knob so I can use the caldero in the oven.
Best popcorn Pan!!!
Was looking everywhere for a great popcorn pan and this is it! Works great on the stove and is very light and sturdy.
