Le Creuset Enamel-on-Steel Zen 1-2/3-Quart Teakettle, Dune

It molts.
This kettle heats up water quickly. I have not had the water dripping difficulties mentioned by another reviewer. However, the plastic handle and spout cover "shed," leaving a black powdery plastic all over parts of the kettle - hopefully not inside, but it's hard to tell, as the inside is also black.

I love Le Creuset enameled cast iron cookware, but I would not purchase this kettle again.

Nice Kettle
I am very happy with this kettle. I use it on a ceramic top and it heats up relatively quickly. The whistle works fine, and I have had no issues with water dripping and spilling while pouring like previous reviewers have. This kettle makes about 3-4 average sized cups of tea when filled properly. There should be no cause for concern with chipping around the top edge where the lid goes if it is not mishandled. I have no need to use a mitt when picking the kettle up from the stove. The dune is a nice color and it looks nice sitting on the stovetop. I am extremely picky and inspected this kettle for all of the flaws that I had read about, and they just aren't there. The included instructions will tell you how to properly use the kettle and enjoy it for years to come and are easy to understand and follow. And one final note to in response to the complaints that I have read about the whistle sounds and tones on kettles: buy a musical instrument if you are looking for some sort of magical...

For quick hot water
Attractive solid kettle with convenient 'flexible' handle. The flat shape allows for quick heating of water esp on the wood stove top. A good product
